The Judicial Justice of the Peace Advisory Committee is looking for qualified applicants interested in work as a Judicial Justice of the Peace in Prince Edward Island. Judicial Justices of the Peace exercise authority pursuant to the Justice of the Peace Act, R.S.P.E.I. 1988, Cap. J-6. They are assigned duties by the Chief Judge of the Provincial Court, which may include considering applications for search warrants or production orders, conducting judicial interim release hearings, and making protection orders under the Victims of Family Violence Act, R.S.P.E.I. 1988, Cap. V-3.2 , if so designated.
