MESSAGE FROM CHIEF JUSTICE TRACEY L. CLEMENTS
In mid- March 2020, the Supreme Court of Prince Edward Island suspended regular operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While the court remained accessible, for a period of time, the court heard only urgent, emergency or essential matters. The court gradually resumed regular operations, consistent with directions from the Chief Public Health Office. While the court is fully operational, modifications continue, including increased reliance on technology as well as protocols associated with in-person hearings. Questions regarding the court's directions and protocols may be directed to the Supreme Court Trial Coordinator, Sandy Ripley at SGRIPLEY@gov.pe.ca or 902-368-6023, or the Prothonotary and Registrar Karen Rose at karenrose@gov.pe.ca or 902-368-6669.
Counsel and the parties are encouraged to review the various notices below and practice directions related to COVID-19.
